Patrick Haddad has over 25 years of experience in the areas of securities, corporate law, health care law and insurance. He is chairperson of the firm’s Securities Law Practice Group and co-chairperson of the firm’s Health Care Practice Group.
In his securities and corporate practice, Patrick represents public companies, the boards of for-profit and nonprofit organizations, statewide professional associations, health care professionals, hospital systems, joint ventures, management/service organizations, and managed care delivery systems. His work includes disclosure and compliance relative to current, quarterly and annual filings; Section 16 reporting and representation of corporate directors and officers; corporate governance; audit committee and compensation committee representation; public offerings; private placements; and negotiation and documentation of complex business transactions
Patrick’s health care law practice includes advising on provider contracting, change of ownership (CHOW), certificate of need (CON), hospital/medical staff relationships, third party payor reimbursement, and state and federal laws regulating the delivery of health services and the business of health care.
He also advises a wide array of mortgage originator and insurance clients, including agents, captive, casualty, property, professional liability, health and worker’s compensation insurers, third party administrators, and self-funded health plans. Patrick frequently assists clients regarding the drafting and analysis of federal, state and local legislation and regulation. He also represents clients before federal and state courts and administrative tribunals.
Patrick is a frequent speaker before legal and business groups on the topics of securities and health care, including presentations on peer review, physician self-referral, anti-kickback, compliance plans, HIPAA, and antitrust.

Daniel J. Schulte has more than 20 years experience representing small business owners in all aspects of transactional, operational and regulatory legal matters. A Certified Public Accountant as well as an attorney, Dan is the firm's managing partner and chair of the Health Care Practice Group.
He regularly advises and counsels concerning the formation of business entities, the preparation and review of business and corporate contracts, the purchase and sale of ownership interests in businesses and/or their assets, and the purchase, sale and leasing of real estate. A significant component of Dan’s practice involves representing healthcare professionals in state regulatory matters, including disciplinary and other licensing disputes with the State of Michigan, and federal regulatory matters including fraud and abuse issues. He also counsels on the anti-kickback and Stark laws, preparation of compliance programs, and responding to and negotiating settlements in connection with government enforcement actions.
Dan is well-known for his knowledge and experience in the area of association law, and is primarily responsible for the firm’s representation of the Michigan State Medical Society the Michigan Dental Association and the Michigan Osteopathic Association. His work related to association law includes the drafting and review of new legislation and the preparation of Amicus Curiae Briefs for filing in Michigan’s Supreme Court and Court of Appeals on a variety of topics affecting health care professionals practicing in Michigan.
Dan writes articles and presents frequently before legal, medical and business groups on a variety of topics, including HIPAA, the HITECH Act, the Stark Law, the fraud and abuse laws, health care compliance plans, business succession planning, asset protection, and estate and tax planning.
He is ranked among The Best Lawyers in America®, and has been named a “Michigan Super Lawyer” by Thomson Reuters.
Katherine Cser focuses her practice on labor and employment issues. She counsels and advises business owners, managers and human resources professionals on workplace issues including discrimination, retaliation, wage and hour laws, medical leave laws, among other concerns.
She has also practiced as a commercial litigator on a wide variety of commercial disputes in federal and state courts and arbitral proceedings.
Katherine has experience in commercial transactions litigation, as well as restrictive covenants and intellectual property and related tort claims.
Before joining Kerr Russell, Katherine was an attorney in the New York City office of a national law firm. In 2014 and 2015, she was named to the New York Metro Super Lawyers’ Rising Stars list. In 2016 and 2017, Katherine was named to the Michigan Super Lawyers' Rising Stars list.
