Eric Lark presents CIMA Inspections - Best Practices to Ensure Compliance at the Cayman Captive Forum 2017

November 28, 2017

Eric Lark, member, presented CIMA Inspections - Best Practices to Ensure Compliance at the Cayman Captive Forum 2017 on November 28. His co-presenters included Alan Craig, partner and head of corporate for Campbells Attorneys, and Damian Pentney, insurance leader for PWC.

Here is a description of the panel: "Captives, including those that are Cayman-based, face ever-increasing regulatory scrutiny and governance requirements. Within this framework, CIMA, while attempting to maintain the flexibility and business-friendliness for which it is highly regarded, must view captives with a keen eye. This knowledgeable and interactive panel will review the CIMA regulatory measures which supplement the terms of the Insurance Law, discuss the policies and procedures required to ensure compliance therewith, and examine issues raised in actual CIMA inspections."

The Insurance Managers Association of Cayman is a non-profit organization run for and by Cayman’s captive insurance industry, including insurance managers, Cayman captive insurance companies and service providers.  The association is the unified representative of the captive industry, acting as a liaison with the Cayman Islands Government, the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority (CIMA) and the private sector, to ensure that its members’ interests are represented. IMAC hosts the world’s largest captive insurance conference – the Cayman Captive Forum – which has been held annually since 1993.

At the 25th annual Cayman Captive Forum - November 28th to 30th, 2017, over 1,400 specialists including captive directors, CFO’s, risk managers, service providers and captive managers from around the world converge in the Cayman Islands to discuss the issues most pressing to the captive insurance industry.
