November 6, 2017

Kate McCarroll, member, writes, "Thank you, Zonta Club of Pontiac North Oakland, for your service to women in our community and worldwide. Inspiring women of all ages to think big, effect change, and mentor others is as essential today as it was on your founding day. Thank you."

Zonta Club of Pontiac-North Oakland, is one of over 1,200 clubs of Zonta International, a worldwide service organization. Founded in 1919 in Buffalo, New York, Zonta takes its name from the Lakota Sioux Indian word meaning “honest and trustworthy.” Zontians volunteer their time, talents and treasure to local and international service projects that are designed to advance the status of women through service and advocacy.

Locally, the club is comprised of women and men living or working in the Pontiac North Oakland area who support the mission of Zonta. They hold a monthly business meeting to plan fund-raisers, service projects and advocacy efforts. A second program meeting is held most months offering topics of education or hands-on service opportunities.

The group will be celebrating its 90th anniversary on Saturday, December 9 at 1:00 pm with a reception, luncheon and program at the Crown Plaza, 150 N. Opdyke Rd  Auburn Hills, Michigan 48326. You can sign up for the event and learn more here.
