A Chinese National, and fluent in Mandarin, Chaoyi is qualified to practice both in the United States and in China. Her background, language ability, and specific legal acumen and knowledge enable her to provide invaluable assistance to clients operating in the realm of international business.
Her expertise involves cross-border business transactions, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, and joint venture transactions. She has extensive experiences in assisting inbound Chinese companies with drafting and negotiation of commercial transactions, M&A, real estate, tax and employment law, CFIUS, and export control compliance.
She also advises US companies in many areas of investment in China, including business establishment, joint venture structuring and negotiation, intellectual property protection and technology transfer, foreign exchange control, and labor law, tax and other regulatory compliance issues.
