Biography

Olivia regularly counsels and advises business owners, managers and human resources professionals on various labor and employment related issues, not only ensuring compliance with various federal and state laws, but also drafting employee handbooks, employment and independent contractor agreements, restrictive covenants, and other employment policies and contracts.

Olivia has experience representing employers in administrative and governmental proceedings, including investigations, inquiries, and hearings conducted by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Michigan Department of Civil Rights, the Department of Justice, the Department of Labor, Michigan’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration, Michigan’s Unemployment Insurance Agency, and the Michigan Office of Administrative Hearings and Rules, among others. She has also represented companies in trade secret, non-competition, and breach of contract litigation, as well as in collective bargaining negotiations and union grievances.

In addition, Olivia assists clients who are in the process of merging with or acquiring a new entity with all employed-related matters, including drafting documents to transition or terminate employment, ensuring compliance with federal and state laws, including the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, and the National Labor Relations Act, and assisting with other business succession planning concerns.

Olivia graduated from the University of Michigan Law School where she was a member of the Michigan Journal of International Law, Child Advocacy Law Clinic, Unemployment Insurance Clinic, Public Benefits Advocacy Projects, and the Women Law Students Association. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Michigan State University.

She was recognized as a Best Lawyers: One to Watch in 2022 and 2023 and a 2022 Corp! Most Valuable Young Professional. Olivia is OSHA 10 certified.
