Joanne Geha Swanson is the new President of the Detroit Bar Association Board.
Joanne Geha Swanson provides strong, rigorous advocacy to clients who must either enforce or defend their rights through litigation. In addition, she counsels clients on how to avoid litigation and resolve disputes without turning to the courts in the first place. She has more than 30 years of experience as a litigator and appellate attorney. Joanne is a current Council Member of the Appellate Practice Section of the State Bar of Michigan and is the Past Chair of the State Bar of Michigan’s Antitrust, Franchise & Trade Regulation Section. Joanne has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America, Michigan Super Lawyers, Crain’s Detroit Business Notable Women Lawyers in Michigan, dBusiness Top Lawyer, 2018 Best Lawyers Litigation – Antitrust “Lawyer of the Year” for Metro Detroit, and is AV-rated by Martindale-Hubbell. She earned a J.D., cum laude from Wayne State University Law School and a B.A. from Michigan State University.
