He also worked in the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office in the preliminary examinations division: holding probable cause conferences and preliminary examinations; responsible for conducting legal research, writing briefs, and presenting legal arguments at examination hearings.
He has experience working for a “Big Three” automaker in its transfer pricing counsel group, helping establish and execute global tax strategy for its subsidiaries. Responsibilities there included researching legal issues, drafting commercial agreements, and reviewing documentation to ensure compliance with statutory guidelines.
He graduated from Wayne State University Law School where he was Associate Editor of The Wayne Law Review. He was a Senior Member and National Team Member of the Wayne State Moot Court Team from 2013 to 2015 and an Individual Oralist Award winner – 7th Place Overall at the ABA NAAC Regional Competition in 2015.
He was a student attorney and later a board member and litigation supervisor at the Detroit Free Legal Aid Clinic. While there, he represented family law and elder law clients through all stages of litigation on a range of legal issues, including family law, estate planning, landlord-tenant disputes, and contract disputes. In his leadership role, he was responsible for administrative matters, managing clinic operations, maintaining relationships with partner organizations, fundraising, and casework.
