Karen has over 20 years of experience as a defense litigation paralegal in various areas, including medical malpractice, personal injury, products liability, toxic tort, environmental law and Superfund. She is a member of Kerr Russell’s medical malpractice team, focusing on all aspects of discovery including: case management; medical research; ordering records; summarizing medical records and other relevant documents; drafting discovery pleadings including interrogatories and document requests; responding to discovery pleadings; drafting witness lists and discovery motions. Karen also assists with trial preparation, which includes: creating trial books; indexing deposition transcripts; organizing exhibits; and creating demonstrative aids.
Karen earned a B.S. in Education from Wayne State University and a Paralegal Certificate from Oakland University. She is a member of the Golden Key International Honor Society and is a member of Wayne State University’s Alumni Association. Karen is a member of the Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association and served as Paralegal Section Chair from 2007 – 2010. Additionally, she chaired the DMBA Paralegal Section’s 5th and 6th Annual Paralegal Expo in 2008 and 2009.
